To facilitate the institutional goal of experiential learning of the students 4 clubs have been formed at the Institute. These clubs organize various activities and events to further lateral thinking an also to create a platform for putting to use the knowledge gained during classes. All students are required to become a member of one or another club. Every club has an elected manager from the seniors to develop their leadership skills and hone their management and administrative capabilities. It also ensures that the knowledge and experiences are shared between the students of different batches. All in all the entire goal is that "Learning is fun, when it is done".
Those who have a flare for interacting with people from different walks of life are a part of Qui Accuillez, the Front Office club at HCMI. The club further enhances communication and people skills which benefit the members in the long run. Hotel visits are organized and students get an opportunity to interact with hoteliers and to gain from their experiences. Slide shows, discussions and film viewing about the vital role played by individuals in Insuring guest satisfaction and repeat business for hotels. Skills such as confidence, leadership and situation handling are introduced into the student's character by a variety of methodology such as role plays and skits. Competition for public speaking, debates and quizzes are organized for the members to equip them with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude required to become successful hoteliers.
Roi-de-Cuisine or Food Production Club at HCMI is formed by the students wishing to pursue a career in Food production. The club meets to discuss the innovation and trends in kitchens today. Case studies of successful chefs are handed out, talked about and learnt from. Food Festivals based upon a specified theme are organized on a monthly basis to encourage creativity in preparation and garnishing. Students create their own unique dishes or borrow from cuisines around the world. Eminent industry chefs are invited to the Campus to judge the competitions and give their valuable feed back. Roi-de-Cuisine is a platform for the chefs of tomorrow
Students with an interest in fine foods and the finest wines of the world and their combinations are a part of Le Gourmet the F & B club at HCMI. Workshops are organized by liquor giants such as, Smirnoff, Seagram's and other company to impart specific skills required for Food service and bar tending. Monthly events are organized in which, the decor of the restaurant is changed based upon the theme and cocktail and mocktails competitions are organized. Slide shows and discussion on the present and future of the service industry are viewed and appreciated. These students also form the elite service group and are called upon by renowned caterers and hoteliers for V.I.P. service at their functions. The club also created a house wine during the last academic session.
The place to be for those students with an artistic bent of minds and a flare for decoration, organizing and beautification-Le Garden Maison - The House Keeping Club at HCMI. The club organizes a plethora of activity like debates, discussion and film viewing about concepts and current trends in House Keeping. Competitions are held in house and students get the opportunity to showcase their talents in transforming the ambience of a given area. Training in Rangoli making, Flower arrangement and Glass painting are imparted to enhance and develop their aesthetic senses.
We are pleased to announce our annual scholarship program. We gives scholarship funds to deserving students from all over India. We look forward to receiving the applications from your students and reading about their accomplishments. The competition for these scholarships is always keen, and we take great satisfaction in knowing that we have helped some very deserving students pay for their education.
